Divorce has screwed this young man up--he is desperately seeking attention.

I feel sorry for him--but I support the right of the school to enforce some sort of dress code.

The problem is that when you let kids go wild with the "self expression" a lot of them will spend way too much of their time and energy on clothes and makeup.

School is for learning first.

This kind of dress is surely disruptive. All the other kids are going to spend a lot of time gawking at him and talking about him when they ought to be paying attention to school work. I often oppose the total stupidity of some of the "zero tolerance" enforcement monstrosities that are posted here. Ths isn't one of those stiuations and the school administration is doing the exactly right thing.
