Kind of Macchiavellian,isn't that?
On the light side, it seems to be working!
I believe Roy DeLong is a fictional creation. He exists only as an allegedly outraged pastor everytime The Swift Report feels some rabid Christian somewhere should be outraged.
Seriously. If he exists at all, he is a leftist who feigns outrage so they can write articles like this.
To the writer of this editorial: permit me to quote from Travis Tritt...."Here's a quarter, call someone who cares"
Really?
What about the Biblical admonition to be in the world but not part of it?
All the excusing on this thread makes me wonder...
Sounds like a liberal lie/smear. I really doubt there are very many people of ANY persuasion (required that they have an IQ > 45) that are ticked off.
Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.
LOL Or having too much fun. :)
At least it wasn't one of those gridiron dinners. I watched the Jeff Foxworthy roast and that was more raunchy.
Wackos. If people don't want their kids exposed to Desperate Housewives they have no excuses of the "but they could be anywhere with a TV watching it" vartiety when the show is on at a time when little kids are home, and even younger teens should be at home doing homework on a Sunday night. Anyone who can't keep their kid from watching this show is a bad parent. Enough excuses, all these censoring, self-righteous idiots--the rest of us are not your nannies.
I did as well. If we Conservative Christitans can't laugh at ourselves we are in trouble. Knowing that the First Lady would never watch that trash makes it even funnier. Heck She is probably in bed by 9:00 pm as well.
I'm sure that, if it were not for the dignity of his office, George W. Bush would like to personally serve Mr. DeLong a nice big cup of "shut the &@(< up".
It's the old divide-and-conquer outrage machine, trying to separate conservative factions. It's just jokes!
Might have been helpful for them to listen to Laura's entire speech. I thought her serious comments about her relationship to her husband and the entire Bush family as she closed her comments were kind and loving.
Humor is humor. As a conservative Christian myself, I thought the bit was satire - and quite funny.
Laura stole the show. She was fantabulous. What a great couple.
Nope, this is a real life example of a (ahem) conservative Christian smear. Although your point about the IQ is well taken.
Three of us. It was funny. It was a joke, people.
Awww, you're just sore because you found yourself in the mod's crosshairs that middle of the night thread about the abducted bride coming out of hiding. ;^)
Plus is was written for her at her husband's request.
This is so silly that it sounds like something that would come from the DU. There was a post last week from some middle Eastern newservice that claimed that the Saudi Prince's father was in a coma and dying, or already dead. I'm sure if true, this would explain the hand holding incident. The jokes, however were no big deal.
