I've had several e-mail exchanges with Ms. Griego about her articles. I once offered to send her my personal copy of the book "Bias," by Bernard Goldberg. Her response was that it didn't apply here (re: her column) because she'd read it and it was about "Broadcast Media."
In another missive she suggested it was "OK" for Parents and their children to lie to school officials to get free school lunches, because, after all, Geroge Bush gives away your money to the evil Haliburton-Enron nexus.
When your politics become your religion, you will invent stories to spread your Gospel.
I only scaned the Dairy Queen bit. It bothered me because the DQ is not a high traffic area. I think they gave her a free ride because she was feeding the true believers what they wanted to hear. It appears that she wants to be treated like the janitor who forgot to dump the trash rather than an adult professional that her position required.
