So, life was flourishing at a time when the climate was much warmer than it is now?

If I remember correctly, 200 million years ago, the land mass that is now Antartica wasn't near the South Pole, so it's hardly surprising that it wasn't freezing.

Admiral Byrd was trying to tell the world about this hidden world many moons ago, and as the fable goes (assuming it is a fable), his radio broadcast was cut off when he began to describe the prehistoric-looking creatures wandering around in a tropical enclave, he must have seen Helen Thomas down there, and the poor man went bloody bonkers.

I've seen in a book or two - and, IIRC correctly, an ancient map which depicts the land mass under Antarctica. The map in question was a copy of a more ancient map. Proof that the ancients were making good maps before Antarctica got covered with ice. When would that be? I have not a clue.

it's clearly a new dinosaur to Antarctica," Hard to believe that 70 million and 200 million years old fossils can classify this dinosaur as "new".
