If a Republican assists a non-Republican, why should that person remain in good standing with the Republican party?

So being a "republican" now means you MUST OBEY the party? Like the communist party? Or the DNC? Or maybe the NAZI?

Gee, I don't know. Let's ask Sen Lincoln Chafee (R-RI) who campaigned against Pres. Bush's re-election, then did not vote for Pres. Bush but instead wrote in Bush Sr. as a write-in candidate. And of course he joined the betrayer McCain as one of the RINO Repukes Gang of 7 to continue the Dimwits filibuster option. Chafee's reward for his disloyalty to the Republican Party and his open opposition to President Bush? The RNC and Karl Rove and the Senate GOP is backing him full hilt in his campaign re-election and they are openly disparaging his conservative GOP primary opponent (can't remember the guy's name). So the moral is.... bash President Bush, sow discord and disloyalty to the Republican Party, but if you're a RINO establishment type, the RNC will still back you. Figure that one out!

Because if you enforced that rule, the Republican party would be quite small.
