I liked that one because it was one of the best sci-fi stories with a heart ... Oh, and another thing! Tea Leoni is arguing with her dad in one of those drenching studio downpours. Anyway, she gets in the last word, steps into the street, raises her arm, and a taxi screeches to a halt in front of her.
And did I mention it's at night? In DC?

Oh, c'mon! It was a MOVIE for cryin' out loud! :) The REAL flaw in the movie was all the bad science, including the smaller meteor that hit the east coast. Here is this meteor the size of Peoria flying overhead at Mach 100 and folks are just watching it fly by ... in reality the shock wave would have pulverized most of everything for hundreds of miles before it hit the ground. But then we couldn't have the hobbit riding his motorbike up the mountain at the end ...
