Just weird-- Dad makes it sound like it's perfectly normal to commit suicide using a powerful (and carefully constructed) bomb outside a packed football stadium.
Just how many such benign suicides have EVER occured in the history of the world? My guess is none. And this one would not be the first.
Well... seriously... would you expect the guy's *father* to jump on the conspiracy bandwagon? Not likely.
His son just killed himself. It'll be months before he even comes to grips with that, let alone how it happened or why. He's not going to think or say anything useful in that time.

The host should ask how much contact he had with his son in the last 1 and 1/2 years of his life.

In the Tampa Bay area, "The Schnitt Show" (popular syndicated radio show) did a fair amount of time on the Boy Bomber this afternoon. He said you'd have to be living under a rock to not see what Hinrichs was up to. Slowly but surely, the word is getting out there. About friggin' time.
Dad can't clearly say if son visited the local mosque, says he'd be 'surprised if he didn't,' noting his curious nature.
Dad says 'many other kids' were trying to get in the stadium that night. (talking about booze?)
dad says son never looking for ideology...says he was a conservative inventor...killed himself that way because it was a "high-tech way"
This is too weird. Says he would expect his sun to blow himself up in no other way than they way he did
The son's been off at college... not much chance the father had much idea what was really going on with the kid, day to day.
I'm not saying there isn't some kind of conspiracy bigger than just the kid-- there might have been. But expecting his dad to buy in on any of it at this point is just not realistic.
But it is also still possible that this kid was simply really messed up. Somebody with AQ connections ought to plan things out a little better.
Sounds like the kid was being used as a pawn by the Pakastani roommate.
