Of course, people forget that one of the big advantage of red wines is under proper storage, they have an extremely long shelf life. That's why you can actually drink red wine safely that are nearly 200 years old. I wouldn't be surprised that Tutankhamun preferred red wines because that was probably the only wine available in Egypt at the time due to its ease to storage....
