Not two minutes ago I was reading an AP news story on cable news and I thought the same thing. It is not wise to scoff at France as their nation burns, because it is nothing but a microcosm of what's to come to every Western culture. We are not immune.

Strangely, though, France still denies that the riots and insurrection are caused by Islamics, so they will go down without fighting back, with their liberal, multi-culturalism ideals being a millstone around their necks in this ocean of cultural insanity.

How far away is America from drowing in the same sea of crap, no matter if it's Islam or anything else that takes us down from within? Does anyone believe anymore that liberalism and multi-culturalism isn't also pulling is down the same way? I think instead of laughing at France we should be praying for our own country.

Many of these mosques are built with the help of Saudi Arabia, which adheres to the Wahhabi sect of Islam, the religion's most puritanical and violent wing. In some cases, the mosques are connected to schools that teach separation from American values and hatred of Jews and Christians.

Saudi Arabia is funding these institutions of hate, right here in our midst. And Saudi Arabia does not permit the building of Christian churches and schools in their own country.

Why cannot Congress prohibit the foreign funding of religious institutions and schools in the United States by governments that do not in turn permit religious freedom in their own country?

The First Amendment prohibition on the free exercise of religion is intended for the benefit of Americans, not for the benefit of Saudis who do not recognize the principle of freedom of religion.

And could we not constitutionally ban not only the Saudi government, but Saudi nationals, from funding mosques in this country so long as Saudi law prohibits freedom of religion in their own country?

Any thoughts from other students of the Constitution on this idea welcomed.

Illegal immigration is one of many symptoms.

The cause, more directly, is Liberal shame of rural American culture.

Wow. It's really nice to see more and more people bringing the truth of this out in the open.

Would it really hurt America if 0.05% of our population was muslim?

How about 5%?, 10%?, 20%?

Would we be OK if America was predominantly muslim? No way, we would all respond.

If 20% is too much, then why do we need any?

I've been horrified by what's happening in France, and dismayed by what I've heard from some of our members here. It's true that the leftist government is partly to blame for letting the situation get as bad as it has, but Chirac and his high officials won't be affected by any of this. It's the average citizen who gets his car burned out or his kid's school torched. And the French people are not our enemies - it's the actions of their government that we dislike.

During the Cold War, if my boat had to put a torpedo into a Soviet ship I still wouldn't hate the sailors who might be lobbing depth charges at me. Each of us would just be doing our jobs. The torpedo would take out the ship owned by their sucky government.

A little less glee at the plight of innocent French citizens would be nice to see here.

It's natural to be concerned about the US having similar problems, but a similar thing will not happen here. Now, we may, any day now, lose an entire city or cities to jihadi nukes, but we will never see rioting like in France.

It is easy to say “We have guns” and think this is the magic prevention bullet. It is. But remember the Prophet Monkeys will have guns too. Nonetheless, our guns are our difference. Our citizens will shoot a lot of the Islamic bad guys dead very quickly. Also, our police, national guard and military are all made of men and women that simply will not tolerate Allah Akbar ringing in city streets. Even if orders were to be modest with response, the reality is if Billy Bob national guardsman gets a chance to shoot dead an Allah screaming scum bag, he's gonna do so with glee.

Finally, if the situation was to go on for a day or more, I guarantee local travel agencies would start selling “GO KILL JIHADI's” tour packages. Every flight, bus and freeway would be jammed with Joe Bob and his Mamma, yes, his Mamma, wife, son and Uncle too, as they all headed to the hot spots with pure joy and a wonderful lust in their head and hearts. “We're gonna get to shoot lots of em dead,” Mamma would say. And all the youngen's would have a delightful joy in their voices as they said “Yes, Yes. Prophet Monkeys are gonna die!”

Basically, in my opinion, the smart Jihadi's pray about five times a day that this sort of thing doesn't happen here.

But of course, there is a huge difference between Muslims living in France and Muslims living in the USA: the Muslims living in France are severely segregated with little hope for economic advancement. Small wonder why they're lashing out against the French government.

That was a good column by Cal. ...very thoughtful. Thanks for posting it.

One good question to all who are gleeful over the fate of France is, "How many kids do you have with your husband or wife?" Another might be, "Do you believe in feminism (romanticism in spoiled men and women) and that our Government should continue to help at breaking families for the sake of feminism?"

How many of our responsible grandchildren, each reared by both of their natural parents (or moral widowed parents who remarried) will be around to live with the growing US muslim population of the future?

Our divorce/cohabitation industry is the most destructive and radical of leftist endeavors against our culture and future. No amount of hysterical, parabolic rhetoric can conceal that fact from the minds of thinking people.

Until last year, I generally criticized the French for their anti-American propaganda--the same kind of backstabbing that other western Europeans indulge in when they visit South America and other regions. As a matter of fact, another west European country is more well know to the world for the extreme condescension and conceit in its culture.

It's hypocritical and immoral to cheer at the current miseries in France. The rest of western Europe is just a shout away from being in the same shape. And in a couple of decades, we might be facing the same problems.

Muslims wouldn't dare riot in USA, maybe the city areas where majority of Liberals are, but even still they would be put down with in a day or two.

Unlike France, we have shown our willingness to exact consequences (Iraq), and stand and die to defend ourselves. This is why we have not been attacked in four years, nor will we be.

Despite our attempt to frame our reaction to 9-11 as defensive and altruistic, our actions are seen by our attackers as punitive and retaliatory. Instead of inflaming their ire, our resolve to persevere has instilled that condition which quells all agression.....FEAR.

I believe that it is already too late. Give the ones already here about 10-12 more years to breed , coupled with a corresponding drop in the morals of the citizens here and they will begin to make their move.

They never strike until they believe the time is right.

In order for them to strike,at least two of three conditions must be met:
1. The targeted population must be unarmed.
2. The targeted popultion must be too degenerate to resist.
3. They must be the majority population.

I believe that France meets two of them and England is rapidly working on meeting two of them.
