If you don't toot your own horn, who will?
Congratulations to Professor Roberge. Let's hope more people like him choose to go into education so our young people don't think all people in academia are crazy liberal socialists who are intolerant of other viewpoints.
Right on, Larry.
bump--a trophy for the FR mantlepiece. How encouraging to see a conservative academic not only hang on to his job, but flourish!
CONSERVATIVE AND PROLIFE PROFESSOR AWARDED PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR AWARD
GOOD FOR HIM
Many congrats! I see teaching experience included Quinsig. Comm. College in Worcester. Our homeschooled daughter is a Senior in high school, and she's taking her Math and Science courses at Quinsig.
Prolife BUMP
By the way, my co-author, Michael Allen, did not win "professor of the year," but was awarded the U. of Washington-Tacoma's "Researcher of the Year" for his contributions to our book, "A Patriot's History of the United States." So the academy every once in a while gets it right.
Congratulations!
This is a feather in all our caps.
Thanks for your efforts!
Congratulations Professor Roberge :-)
Good news! Congratulations..!!
Here's a bit more for the forum, with Prof. Roberge listed under Connecticut:

Well done, looks like you're doing the real work of education...
not just teaching belly-button contemplation in the style of Noam Chomsky, etc.
Congratulations! I must say, we have some awesome people here at FR! God bless you!
Is "The Cost of Abortion" readable for the slightly above-average person? It sounds very interesting.
A hearty congratulations to you!!
Best regards,
RA
Congratulations and well done.
The dinners, and chairs, and praise and accolades would be lovely. But you have more than trophies, and plaques and letters of merit. You have touched the hearts and souls of your students with a knowledge and truth that they will carry with them their whole lives.
Trophies collect dust and are eventually put in a box in the attic, forgotten. Your real treasure, your students, will pass on your ideas far and wide. Your impact on their lives, and future lives, will be immense.
What a wonderful breath of fresh air!!!! After spending an hour reading a thread about the disgraceful Ward Churchill, how refreshing to read about your award.
You ask about conservatives, and why we complain about the bias, yet do nothing to change it? That is a great question.
I think that is our nature as conservatives and/or Christians. We do things because they are "right" not for the pat on the back or for the recognition. I'm not saying those things are bad, it's just not what motivates us. We give because we want to, we stand on principles because it's what's right, not because of public opinion or fanfare. Of course this is just my opinion, but I suspect that is part of the explanation.
As for being ignored by the media? Hmmm... could they be worried about the ACLU? I don't know. I would send the release to Glenn Beck and Hannity too.
I agree with baseballmom... the lives you touch and influence will have an impact far greater than you will ever realize.
Thank you for what you do!
There really are conservative Professors. Who knew?
