At the Bunny Ranch, where an outspoken owner has actively sought publicity, several women expressed ambiguity about work that is completely legal, with earnings reported to U.S. tax authorities. And of course the government wants its cut.

I can't see myself ever paying for sex in some place like this, or anywhere else. It just seems like a stupid thing to do.
But, that's me. As far as I can see, there's no real reason not to make such stuff legal, if communities want to do so.
Certainly, there is prostitution in every city of any size, all across America and the rest of the world. At least, in these counties, it is somewhat regulated and not relegated to the whims of pimps.
Still, I ain't interested.

"If sex offends you, get out of here." Sex does not offend. Having people pay money in exchange for the most intimate of human acts as casually as if one were picking up a few burgers at a fast food restaurant offends me. The world has enough temptation as it is. Why offer something else to corrupt people? Why further objectify women? Why further debauch people?

"Look, I just made $500 and that was for 15 minutes." The best legal advice money can buy doesn't cost that much. There is a reason why sex is so expensive. It is an intimate act, and in order to attract women who will force themselves to perform this act with a stranger her pimp must charge an exorbitant sum. The men, of course, will pay, either because they have money to burn or assume they are getting a "good deal."

If it's so safe and lucrative, why not have it available in every state? We're missing out on revenue, people!

I never got beyond the title; "Nevada gives prostitution uneasy embrace." You see, that is what you get for $250. Easy embrace or even outright clinging costs a lot more.

I've always found it strange that some men who can demand huge salaries still have to pay for sex. Tells us a little more about the Peter Principle.

I live in Northern Nevada. The typical house of prostitution consists of several older double-wide trailers, surrounded be a chain-link fence topped with razor wire. It's is an area of wrecking yards, porno shops, crack houses and beer bars. And the men going in and out of these establishment tend to be the pitiful wrecks of our society. These places will never be mistaken for resort hotels, dude ranches or even 1950's Los Vegas style strip motels.
Also I question the amount of money these sex workers say they have earned, considering their typical clientele (callow youths, handicapped adults, and the elderly).
Yes, some better paying clientele from out-of-state, travel from the nearby hotels to be serviced. And places such as the Moonlite Bunny Ranch, and the Mustang Ranch provide limousines for their better paying customers.

Illegal prostitution will wreck a neighborhood. I've seen this happen here in Rochester, NY and I bet it happens in the majority of U.S. cities. In my city, the neighborhoods where prostitution is active, there's also a correlation of drug dealing activity as well. The prostitutes will have sex with their customers in their cars, parked in neighbors driveways and on porches as well, in full view of anybody wandering by, including children. Once a neighborhood is proliferated by illegal prostitution, it's a goner for sure.
I was stationed in Germany and prostitution is legal there. They allow it only in certain restricted areas and like Nevada, the prostitutes are checked out frequently by health officials. There is some "spill-over" out of the area where prostitution is allowed, but not for more than a few blocks.
In my opinion, it's better to control this (oldest) vice and contain it in an area that's not going to hurt your community's neighborhoods and also control STD's than to ignore the problem. Ignoring the problem has wrecked alot of neighborhoods in my city.

Prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas County Proper.. believe me if it wasn't, you'd have grand brothel houses on the strip, with bright neon lights peddling their wares... The ONLY reason its not as loud as the Vegas Strip is because technically its still illegal there.

Politicians, bible-thumpers, and other assorted busybodies cannot comprehend the economic aspect of prostitution.
Supply and demand cannot be regulated. Many have tried. All have failed miserably.
