While researchers didn't directly see planets forming in the disk, they believe the building blocks are present. In 1992, another team of scientists found planets circling a different pulsar, but they didn't observe a disk and couldn't tell how the planetary system formed. One of the big advantages Astronomers have is they all get to work with the source material, everybody gets to look at the skies. Astronomers know a good deal about their science and it seems strange to me that you would impugn their knowledge with...Um, what are your qualifications again?
