"But Lake was directly involved in another national security-for-campaign contributions transaction. Writing in the April issue of The American Spectator (which was published just shortly before Lake's withdrawal), national security analyst Kenneth Timmerman observed that Lake "helped Occidental Petroleum, a California firm, obtain an exemption from the 1996 anti-terrorism act in order to pursue a lucrative oil deal in Sudan -- a country that is on the State Department's list of international terrorist nations -- by ordering the Treasury Department to write regulations that took the teeth out of the law. Occidental returned the favor with large donations to both the DNC and key congressional democrats." Sudan, it should be noted, plays a vital role in the radical Islamic network that Lake tapped into to create the Iran-Bosnia arms pipeline.
Furthermore, Occidental Petroleum is the firm established by the late Armand Hammer, the American businessman who served as Lenin's "path" to American capitalism. As we have pointed out previously (see "Al Gore's Red Connections" in our March 31st issue), among Hammer's most intimate business associates was Al Gore Sr., who was given a $500,000-a-year position as the head of Occidental's coal division as a reward for helping Hammer obtain access to foreign political leaders and deterring FBI investigations into Hammer's Soviet connections. It appears that Lake was willing to perform similar services for the post-Hammer Occidental Petroleum firm."
I saw Leon Fuerth on that list...didn't he work for BUSH? I don't see how you get Anthony Lake as the key.....help!!
