Lou Dobbs Tonight: Mexican Congress Supports Insurrection in U.S.
CNN ^ | April 28, 2006 | Lou Dobbs

                                                Lou Dobbs Tonight

DOBBS: Mexican lawmakers are on their way to Los Angeles to participate in Monday's boycott and demonstrations in support of amnesty for all illegal aliens in this country. The Mexican government lawmakers last night passed a resolution showing their overwhelming support for the demonstrations and boycott in the United States. All political parties in the lower house of the Mexican Congress approved the resolution. This is just the latest example of Mexican politics trying to influence U.S. policy and U.S. public opinion in the illegal alien amnesty debate.

Illegal aliens in this country and their supporters intend to severely disrupt the nation's economy and our schools with their boycott and demonstrations Monday. The groups will not consider their boycott a success unless they succeed in basically shutting down our cities and pressuring Congress to pass amnesty for all illegal aliens.

So what's the solution? I'm a pragmatic guy. You have to vote, so who do you vote for - the guys not doing enough on a few issues, or the guys wrong on all the issues? Can't we just focus on border security for now, defer the what to do with the ones here question until after the election, and then, after we win, focus on that and start rounding up the criminals and unproductive among us?

"Do you remember the illegal aliens (boat people) coming here from Viet Nam? Many of them were sent back only to die in their crummy ships en route."

That may have happened in Thailand, Malaysia, or Singapore, but it never happened in the U.S.

Any day now, I'm expecting to see James Dobson come out and say how disappointed he is that the Christian Right didn't get anything in the last two years. He, and they, are as predictable as the rising of the sun.

One more slam from sinkspur of an honorable and decent American.

Talk about 'predictable'.

This is not the country I once knew and it makes me feel like I don't want to be a citizen of the USA anymore.

...I remember Michelle Malkin when she was just a local girl.

I didn't realize that she was from Seattle. I remember her at the Los Angeles Daily News back in the early 1990's.

Why are we tolerating a foreign government coming to our country to support anarchy? Is it just me or this there something VERY wrong with this---among other things.

A lot of people saw his face and knew his name...and that's about it...nothing more.

Pardon me, but how is it that you think you can speak for the entire country and are suddenly the expert on Lou Dobbs and how many people know his face and name? Sorry, but you lack the credibility to make such statements.

She lived in Seattle. Her original venue was one of the two local papers...can't remember which. The daily news must have subscribed to her column.

I really enjoyed her here, but she was a totally different person. I remember once when she took on Michael Medved on his show (only local at the time). I can't remember what the topic was but they came down on opposite sides...she handled him very well.

Wow, Lou takes no prisoners! Last night on CNN, he interviewed the boycott organizer, who smirked that the US would come to a halt. We'd see how important illegals are and give in to their demands. Not only illegals are marching, boycotting, staying out of school (what a great idea when 50 per cent of Hispanics drop out of high school anyway), and away from work. He said others were sympathetic and would join the boycott. Also said he'd never vote for Bush or the republicans. He doesn't care that Bush has left the border open for 6 plus years. (The feeble excuse was that Bush started waging an illegal war.) Only he didn't use the word, 'illegal', immoral maybe. Totally bogus. He figures they'll get more entitlements with democrats in power. Lou didn't argue with him, but said he'd have more to say on the subject. This is his opening salvo.

My husband just suggested we go to spend the night in Tunica, Ms, on Monday and do a little gambling. (Talk about spending money!!)..

The upside of that will be we can see if the Casinos and hotels are "suffering" from the boycott.

The downside will be I'll miss all the fire works on FR..

LOL! And you speak for the entire country? Just because you knew who Mister Bland and Boring was don't fall into the trap of thinking people with a pulse did.

"About 45.8 million Americans did not have health insurance in 2004, according to the USA Census Bureau."

That is about to change. Not because of the government, but because of some innovative ideas that have developed over the past (alomost) two decades.

I think some of the mexico-merger trolls on FR act out of genuine hostility towards the USA, wanting to see it turned into a third-world mess as soon as possible.

Another group of them are the low-self-esteemers who seek identity and validation via hero worship. These are usually the lonely old maids who trade recipes on their "Day in the life of..." photo thread/knitting-circle. Acknowledging any Bush failure, including the obvious profound failure on immigration, would be liking losing a lung for these frail creatures.

The most active of these sad folks, however, are the conflict junkies, who just get off on being contrarian, and whose personality disorder has left them with few real-world friends or other social outlets...hence an Internet message board like FR. Seeing that they're in the smallest minority (per the various FR polls), likely just feeds their feelings of "specialness".

Some here say it's not an insurrection but it is :

rebellion

Main Entry: re·bel·lion

Pronunciation: ri-'bel-y&n Function: noun

1 : opposition to one in authority or dominance
2 a : open, armed, and usually unsuccessful defiance of or resistance to an established government
b : an instance of such defiance or resistance

synonyms REBELLION, REVOLUTION, UPRISING, REVOLT, INSURRECTION, MUTINY mean an outbreak against authority. REBELLION implies an open formidable resistance that is often unsuccessful .

REVOLUTION applies to a successful rebellion resulting in a major change (as in government) .

UPRISING implies a brief, limited and often immediately ineffective rebellion .

REVOLT and INSURRECTION imply an armed uprising that quickly fails or succeeds .

The Vietnamese American community (highly conservative) here in Westminster (OC, CA) is up in arms about this invasion of Mexican illegals.

A political play that I am surprised has not happened is 1) blacks up in arms against Dims for losing their start status, 2) other minorities like the SE Asians you mentioned up in arms, 3) ditto for the Cubans

besides getting the illegal latinos out, we conservatives should be playing harder for the other minorities to help us out. Too much focus on the Mexicans politically, IMO.

I'm not suggesting you should bow out. You provide your comments and I provide mine. You don't have to agree. You're one of the few people who approach this issue with honesty. I can't fault that.

When I first started considering the six year guest-worker plan, it was evident from the start that these folks would never be asked to leave. My reasoning was, if they can't be asked to leave today because that would be unfair, how could we expect them to be asked to leave in six years? It just defied reasoned logic.

I have not invisioned the INS/ICE or whatever going to homes and knocking on doors. I have invisioned businesses being told that the gravy train was over. I had envisioned them having an online means of verifying employability. If a person was a citizen and employable, they could hire them. If not, they couldn't. When that system was installed, businesses could be held accountable. When they were, and some executives were placed in jail because of infractions, there would no longer be a draw for illegal immigrants. Unable to support themselves here, they would return to the nation of their origion.

Any private individuals found to be employing illegals would also be fined heavily.

You mentioned that enforcing our laws might drive some folks into the underground, perhaps linking up with other undesirables to our detriment. I think that's a somewhat reasonable suggestion. Not all would adopt this reaction, but some would IMO. Personally that's one of the very reasons why I think we're flirting with disaster by not gaining control of our borders now. Ask yourself, will we be more or less subject to blackmail when we have 40 million recent immigrants who are loyal to another nation in our country?

I'm seeing Flight 93 tonight, purchasing tickets online (from a website that contributes 100% to republicans), and then on Monday going out to eat, drink, and be merry.

How right you are. Mexican invasion. They intend to take over the country, and they don't understand that they've brought along the corrupt Mexican mindset, including the total lack of understanding that education is important. Hispanics drop out at an alarming rate, why? Polled, they said because of hardships at home, because of low self esteem, and peer pressure. Not a peep about studies being too hard or demanding. They live for the moment, like grasshoppers. The US has to find a way to boot them out or assimilate them completely -- no easy task. It looks as if we're engulfing Mexico, whether we like it or not, but notice Mexico has no intention of cleaning up its act, no intention of doing a d...mn thing but dump their unwanted poor on the US. Oh, and get billions in remittances, thank you very much.

This is an invasion from Mexico.

Not really. All the Mexican leaders want to do is get rid of their lower classes and dark skinned.
