Racism:
The systematic subordination of members of targeted racial groups who have relatively little social power in the United States (Blacks, Latino/as, Native Americans, and Asians), by the members of the agent racial group who have relatively more social power (Whites). The subordination is supported by the actions of individuals, cultural norms and values, and the institutional structures and practices of society.
Individual Racism:
The beliefs, attitudes, and actions of individuals that support or perpetuate racism. Individual racism can occur at both an unconscious and conscious level, and can be both active and passive. Examples include telling a racist joke, using a racial epithet, or believing in the inherent superiority of whites.
Active Racism:
Actions which have as their stated or explicit goal the maintenance of the system of racism and the oppression of those in the targeted racial groups. People who participate in active racism advocate the continued subjugation of members of the targeted groups and protection of “the rights” of members of the agent group. These goals are often supported by a belief in the inferiority of people of color and the superiority of white people, culture, and values.
Passive Racism:
Beliefs, attitudes, and actions that contribute to the maintenance of racism, without openly advocating violence or oppression. The conscious or unconscious maintenance of attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors that support the system of racism, racial prejudice and racial dominance.
Cultural Racism:
Those aspects of society that overtly and covertly attribute value and normality to white people and Whiteness, and devalue, stereotype, and label people of color as “other”, different, less than, or render them invisible. Examples of these norms include defining white skin tones as nude or flesh colored, having a future time orientation, emphasizing individualism as opposed to a more collective ideology, defining one form of English as standard, and identifying only Whites as great writers or composers.
This is official, taxpayer funded, cirriculum for my three kids. Comments?
my comment:move away. fast.
Home school or private school.
Your name is probably on that list.
I guess my skin color makes me a racist.
Extending the cycle of racism for yet another generation.
"The systematic subordination of members of targeted racial groups who have relatively little social power in the United States (Blacks, Latino/as, Native Americans, and Asians)"
ROFL Jeebus that's funny..."little social power"...obviously whoever wrote that hasn't been on a college campus or applied to law school in the last 20 years.
Interesting.
According to the text, it is impossible for anyone of a "non-white" skin color to be racist as per the definition they use.
Tell them they aren't being inclusive enough.
(But be certain to be many many miles away before you do such.)
Either that or your belief in America.
By this definition, I believe 4 blackpeople beating up a white because he or she is white would not be rascist, as only whites can be racist.
This is diversity - where whites are lambasted, bullied and despised. The only way to fight this "diversity" crap is to go to a school board meeting and shove this crap back in their face. Their is no tolerance for anyone who believes that people should be judged on merit - liberals see the world in color shaded glasses - they only care about keeping the race hate and segregation alive - it is the root of the power. Unfortunately too many good people have allowed this evil to foster.
Well, I never saw it in ... ummm... black and white before, but there it is.
Only whites can exhibit racism.
Contrast that to what my dictionary says:
racism |?r??siz?m| nounNo mention of who's doing it.
the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, esp. so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on such a belief :
Holy cow! Individualism is racist?
I won't even axe what be that.
Future time orientation is the racist white oppressor's idea that time is linear. That there is a past, a present and a future. For some cultures, time is viewed as cyclical. Often racist, homophobic white people refer to "Indian time" to denigrate the beautiful red native peoples who are often unable to keep white man appointments, which pisses off their parole officers.
If you are white, the school definition is pretty clear about it. My take is that is says whites have more social power, and that makes them inherently racist.
The systematic subordination of members of targeted racial groups who have relatively little social power in the United States (Blacks, Latino/as, Native Americans, and Asians), by the members of the agent racial group who have relatively more social power (Whites). If you want a true definition of racist......look at the dolt that wrote this POS.
FTO is defined as a general capacity to organize and anticipate future events.
No, I'm not kidding.
But, by their definition, the white person being beaten up would be racist for complaining about it.
