(Milford-AP, Aug. 14, 2006 6:13 AM) _ A poster protest in Milford continues with some military veterans taking issues with a poster in the window of a local liquor store.
Some veterans organizations are calling for a boycott of TJs Package store if owner Thomas Jakubisyn does not remove the cartoon poster.
The cartoon depicts a soldier in camouflage and reads: "Out of Work? Undereducated? No Health Plan? Join the Army and see Iraq."
Jakubisyn, a Vietnam veteran, says he has no intention of taking the sign down.
Members of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America and Military Moms have joined forces and formed "Veterans and Families for the Troops."
One of the protesters says the cartoon feeds into an inaccurate stereotype that American soldiers are less educated and less employable.
Looks like a former Navy guy ... maybe he's having a little fun at the expense of the Army.
That's a generous thought, but read the article I posted under his picture. This dude's an anti-war nut, still spewing about "Bush lied" and that kind of crap.
I agree 100%! leftists hate President Bush and Republicans more than they LOVE AMERICA. THEY WANT THEIR POWER MORE THAN AMERICAN"S SAFETY! dims are no better than islamofascists! Intern ALL of them (islamofascists and lefties) in camps for the duration... maybe longer!
LLS
He was on a cruiser??? Hardly difficult duty during Vietnam.
Just another stupid wuss using Vietnam as a shield. Moron.
Probably been using his service as an excuse to every thing
he has screwed-up in his pathetic little life.
As soon as my nephew graduated college, he joined the army and went to OCS. He is now 27 years old, a Major, working in the drone-plane program making lots of cash.
The military is not a great deal different from civilian work. Got no education, you work in labor, got a good education, you work in management.
The article states he was in the Navy from 59 to 62 and was not a combat veteran.
He did have the horrifying experience of having his ship go on alert once, though.
I hope the locals picket his store and raise hell...especially those who HAVE heard a shot or two fired in anger.
That's what we are up against. The right of the immoral, amoral criminal element to assert that "everybody does it" against traditional values. They are so far out there that they don't even recognize the ridiculousness of a liquor seller trying to take the moral high ground. Give me a break. I am quite sure that alcohol-related deaths exceed military casualties by an astronomical ratio. I'd leave him alone, if he wsan't in our face, however.
LOL well, youll note he didnt place the navy in the same light....
He didn't specifically attack the Marine Corps either. I'm still offended by the sleazeball.
No no, I agree, I agree.. it is in poor taste.
Perhaps the DNC pays him under the table to keep the sign in the window.
Lazy? Retarded? Got no reason for living? Get liquored up at TJ's!
Sounds like he served with John Kerry.
HEY NOW!!! It's hard work walking across the room to adjust the AC! That new pot of coffee won't get made by itself!
Hope a whole lot of locals agree.
Canteen Ping!
Thanks for the ping Coop!
*Vets Upset With Soldier Cartoon*
Nothing like getting the blood rising early in the week.
Me, too, Allegra! That just stinks! As if the guys don't have enough problems with the terrorists over there, they have to put up with this kind of domestic terrorism!
How are you...BTW? Stay safe! (((hugs)))
