With the death of Tito in 1980 the deteriorating Yugoslavia was meat to the Albanian wolves who began a process of making Kosovo unlivable for Serbians. From 1980-85 there were hundreds of Muslim attacks and tens of thousands of Serbs fled the region. That process has continued, but the Serbs vow to never give up their cradle of civilization. I doubt they ever will.
If Yugoslavia couldn't be held together because of distrust of each other, it's better to be apart.
On the other hand, this "Albanian empire" you all talk about is very small potatoes.
