He didn't know about the explicit IMs.

Of course he didn't. After learning of the creepy and inappropriate emails, Hastert did absolutely nothing. How can you expect him to discover the IMs?

Doing nothing about the emails is why Hastert is in trouble with moral values Republicans.

You invested your energy in trying to destroy Tom Delay.

Now you want to destroy another Republcan leader.

Why should anyone listen to someone who's only passion seems to circulate around removing high level Republicans in the Party?

BTW, he's not in trouble with "Values" voters.

Please explain to me how one 'discovers' another person's IM chat records?

Uh, excuse me...the emails were turned over to the FBI who found nothing in them that would justify an investigation. How's that doing nothing?

Haster did do something about the emails. He confronted Foley directly and the emails stopped.

This is nothing more than a set-up and an ambush by the left, and Haster needs to stand up to it and return fire with both barrels. This is already statring to cave around the dems...and before it is over, it will be their own undoing if we do not flinch.

Clearly the opinion of one who is NOT a 'moral values Republican.'

Consider yourself 'outted,' SSS....

Hastert did EXACTLY what the parents of the young man wanted him to do. They wanted him to get Foley to stop sending e-mails to their son, and they didn't want ANY investigations to come from the incident. Hastert told Foley to stop all contact with the young man, which Foley did. Now, on what grounds should Hastert have asked for Foley's resignation at that time?

The nasty IMs were from 2003, and Hastert did NOT know about them, until they were made public by ABC.

The dirty little secret to you backbone-less conservatives is that Hastert DID deal with the emails. There was nothing illegal about them, and Foley was told to stop sending the type of emails that he was sending....nothing else to investigate. Why would Hastert order a full criminal investigation into a fellow member of congress when he has NO...yeah...you heard me...NO evidence supporting a probable cause, or even a reasonable suspicion that Foley was committing any crime, or violating house rules for that matter? Why would he? This whole thing was a political hatchet job set up by Dim cronies..so weak kneed types in the Republican party would quiver and shake in their boots and follow the Dims blindly into whatever trap they have laid.

Get a spine! Hastert should not resign, he should not apologize, he should not show weakness....this has been an Dim attack jon from the get go...Why on God's green Earth would any sane Republican want to to exactly what the Dims want them to do?
