The Muslim religious holiday Eid al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice, is meant to commemorate Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son on God's orders.
But now the holiday could also be associated with something else: the execution of ousted Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

Every other day is a "Muslim Holy Day" and every other sidewalk square is a "Muslim Holy Site."
Screw them. Many more executions to come I hope.

Isn't there a place here for that old joke about "any day he dies will be a holiday"?

I thought it was timed to have happened right before the holiday began?

Funny, I don't see them complaining about Muslims blowing up other Muslims with car bombs on the very same day...

As I've heard, part of the tradition of this holiday is to throw stones at the devil.
Maybe they're making a symbolic statement with this?

The Muzzies have more holidays than the French. Now that is an interesting comparison.

BOO-HOO!
Romania's communist dictator was executed Christmas day -- Christians didn't mind it one bit. It was good riddance of a tyrant.
Saddam was even worse, murdered even more people. It was important to execute him ASAP.

I may have mixed this up with Hajj, which apparently takes place on Sunday or Monday.

"Executing any individual during this holiday period indicates poor judgment and a lack of sensitivity," the Muslim Public Affairs Council said in a statement. Blowing up innocent women and children in "holy" sites during the "holy" month of rammadan is OK. The anti-American cowards at the LA Times strike again!

They said on Fox News that Saddam's execution was deliberately hastened so as to avoid falling on the holiday. Sounds like maybe some revisionists moved the holiday up to coincide with Saddam's execution - - just so they'd have something to wring their hands and whine about.

I agree. Is there a day in the year that the MOOslums don't have a holiday. Also, is every where in the Middle East a first or second holiest place for the MOOslums.
