I get sick once or twice a year tops, generally lasting no more than three days. I spend more time every year putting up with crappy weather, which is saying a lot because I live in the desert where we don't get crappy weather.
My mom told me not to spend life afraid of random occurances, especially not ones that over the long haul are inevitable.
Monk, it that you?
jk
Doctor gave our 2-year-old a blech suppository to stop her urping temporarily after the child had been ill for four days. It worked. Then the urping resumed the next day. It was enough to rehydrate the child. On the sixth day, the child began recuperating.
I remember when I was a child, my father (a pharmacist) would give us paregoric (sp?) when we were urping. I vaguely recall reading that that's not done anymore. I always thought the taste was enough to cure me of all ills.
Not really, heck, I'll eat out of the garbage if I think the little lady has thrown something out prematurely.
IF.. you were to get it, you could hope for a stuck elevator full of liberals to be with
especially if it comes with explosive diarrhea
I personally believe that the illegal immigrants are to blame for a lot of these "stomach flu" cases. Not very hygeine concious and I am willing to bet that where they work in restaurants they don't wash the veggies in the salad bars or their hands in the restrooms. That's why I like Chinese foods. Every thing is fried.............
I don't know this Monk person that everyone refers to........
There is NO such thing as "stomach flu". A virus that affects the stomach...yes.
Within 30 minutes of eating? My husband did NOT get it, but there was one or two of the little appetizers he didn't eat....
In the South its called the backdoor trots. :)
I think it's the press that decides a bunch of people getting sick in winter is some sort of story.
People get sick, it happens. Life goes on.
The worst one of these viruses that I've ever had occurred about three years ago. (time flies!) I felt fine all day. We had not had anyone ill in our household. And I wanted Popeyes spicy fried chicken for dinner. Hubby was tired, and he laid down for a nap. The doorbell rang, and it was our neighbor whose wife was in labor. I went across the street to take care of their five children, and hubby went to buy me that chicken. Sometime during the night, I started feeling a little queasy, but I thought it was due to the candles that the neighbors had strategically placed throughout the house. (smell like cloves) Then around 6:00am, I could not leave the bathroom for more than fifteen minutes, and I wasn't urping. Yet. The neighbor (father) came home around 7:00am, and I could not get home fast enough. The next 24 hours were the worst hours I can remember in my life. I was so sick. And then hubby got it. It was the sickest he's ever been. I was so sick that I can't even remember if our children got it. I know the neighbors did not get it from us! They had been ill three weeks before. I have not eaten Popeyes chicken since. (prior to that, we had a virus hit our house, and we went five years without buying Pringles potato chips.)
It is okay to get sick every once in a while, just to keep your immune system up to speed, but every weekend is too much. I was that bad off............
I think all public restrooms should have the sink on the outside; everyone could see who doesn't wash up.
Don't use hot air dryers in public restrooms...they are incubators in a ripe environment.
I usually don't anyway......
I wait for someone to come out or in the store front if the don't have automatic doors, and hold the door by the frame up high if necessary,........
I am same way.. I keep Hand Sanitizer with me at all times. My boss and his whole family came down with this after Christmas. I sprayed LYSOL all over the office and I have yet to get it......... thank Goodness.. But I don't like germs .......
The "Clorox wipes" don't contain the same as regular Clorox. I work in a Vet clinic and was told this by a veterinarian. There are some things that Clorox will get that the Clorox wipes won't.
