Earth's mag field is generated by the atmosphere. Mars has next to no atmosphere and especially no water vapor. No water vapor, no magnetosphere.

Earth's mag field is generated by the atmosphere The flowing iron under the surface has nothing to do with a "magnetic field" around the earth, eh?
And the moon exerting its pull on the earth has nothing to do with the friction heating of the core...

From what I'd been taught, the magnetosphere or the magnetic field, is generated by the spinning of our molten core.
