Peggy got it wrong, the resolutions were not about the President or the conduct of the War. Instead, its a direct message to the killers and terrorist in Iraq and elsewhere. What it says quite clearly is that victory is at hand, don`t stop now, just keep killing a few more American everyday and we, along with our allies in the MSM, will have the US Troops out of there by fall. Oh, that`s not what it says, well, maybe not, but guarantee you that`s how it was heard in Iraq and Iran.

Hagel knows, or ought to know, damn well that the more US troops are there the safer all our troops will be. If that sounds counterintuitive, all it means is that one of our troopers is more capable then ten Iraqi troopers. But we certainly have to change the ROE so that force protection become #1.

What Hagel is really saying is "Look at me. I'm so smart." Hagel got exactly what he was looking for--the MSM attention. I don't even know the name of one other Republican on the same committee. Hagel got ALL the publicity.
