Iran's army has raised its level of alert in preparation for a possible attack on its nuclear facilities by the United States or Israel, the newspaper Al-Hayat reported Monday.

A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Muhammad Ali Husseini, told the paper that if its nuclear facilities were attacked, Iran would "know how to defend itself."

That’s a relief. I was so worried they’d lost the key leaving the open for anyone to wander through.

Not to be too cynical or a conspiracy nut. But what if this is just the U.S.S.R. Russians trying to sell them more military hardware?

Iran has about as much chance of being attacked as my cat does. And I don’t even have a cat.

But I imagine Ahmanutcase finds these “leaks” useful for forestalling even the thought of an attack and keeping up domestic loyalties in Iran.

Sure - by instigating terrorist attacks upon innocent people - the types of attacks that are typical of the islamist cowards

I’d say the recent Iranian nuclear announcement, following on the heels of their recent test of Western will by the kidnapping of the 15 British members of the military, suggests the Iranians are not concerned about the West hindering their nuclear ambitions.
