I know what you mean. I don't think this story would have ended the same if it were a full grown adult cat.
"White Hunters" by Brian Herne has some vivid accounts of leopards getting the best of some hunters.
I wonder if the guy had any idea of how big that cat was before he decided to grab it.
It attacked his cat, he probably acted instinctively.
