On other issues facing the Legislature and Spitzer, the Siena poll found voters favor _ 52 percent to 42 percent _ a death penalty for those who kill police officers and are divided on Spitzer's call for legalization of gay marriage, 43 percent in favor and 47 percent opposed.

A liberal poll shows that just 43% of New Yorkers support gay marriage? That likely means that not even that many are in favor of it. Good news.
