I don't recall the Bible saying anything about it being a sin to enter a country illegally.Hmmm, well, I think you could cite that ten commandments thingy against "coveting thy neighbor's goods."
Aside from coveting our handouts, illegals are coveting the southwest US, while congress critters are coveting their votes as well as campaign contributions from all those business interests who covet cheap labor.
There's whole lot of covetin' goin' on.

I don't recall reading any such passage other than "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's". Why would the Bible include a passage saying "Obey the laws of the land" since that's not really the concerns of the Bible authors? Not to put too fine a point on it, but that's precisely the meaning of "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's."

“Im not convinced that its really dead yet!”
Question... Bush is sure to be royally pissed off because those of us who do not want to “do what’s right for America” (his words, of course) seem to have won for the moment.
Can he by-pass Congress altogether and achieve his ends somehow by executive order? Or can he just gum up the works forever by making sure that there’s no fence and lousy border security?

Maybe Bush thinks a pan-American government would stand up better to Islamic onslaughtBush and the people who own him don't care about that. They will claim they want a "security perimeter" (after the nest terror attack, likely caused by our porous border and lack of security), but what they really want is an "economic perimter." They want lower wages and benefits and, apparently, have determined that another 100 million people doing the "jobs Americans aren't doing" -- along with the elimination of that troublesome Middle Class -- will get them to their goal.

I am Hispanic and I occasionally listen to the Spanish TV networks. The amount of hatred that comes out of there for this country and Bush makes CNN look like a childrens program. And this administration thinks theyll like him? Hes out of his mind. You should record them, translate to English and post the transcripts here on FR. Seriously.

I'd also say that much of the lack of interest in gaining control of the southern border is in some fashion drug related.

I would want this somehow translated into Spanish, (particularly), and put out all over the Hispanic media across the land and around the world. Especially the part about 95-98% of the people AGAINST the bill, burning up the phone, fax and e mail lines.
They, the illegals and their supporters, can have their "massive" demonstrations in LA and Chicago and DC, but by pure numbers, they are puny compared to the Silent Majority That Roared.

Yours was a great post. It is of top editorial content. It could also be the basis for a damned good book.

DeMint is Presidential material. I attended a presentation he made on reforming Social Security. I consider him one of the coming bright lights of the GOP.

All I can see to the Senate staff and White House operatives who might plan a comeback, I say, bring it on. We will kick their asses once again if we have to. We will increase the phone line burn up from 95% against to 99% if we have to. It’s just a 4% increase for us next time around they try to shove this piece of crap legislation down our throats.

He could do something extra-legislatively. But the grassroots of this country, the PEOPLE, the American People are a very clever lot. They would find some way to sabotague such a dictate from on high. There are all kinds of ways the system could be screwed up by a massive, grassroots political revolt. I wouldn’t be shy about threatening it upon these buzzards, because you know this morning in D.C. they are somehow planning a counter strategy, so we will just keep plugging ahead!!

They are paid off, or they somehow think the vote for it will secure them votes. It is either a cash flow, or a continued employment situation.
It certainly is not in the best interests of the nation, nor is it responsive to public opinion, to some how be in Support of this "comprehensive immigration reform" nonsense.
