I asked a Syrian guy I know (and yes, I know a few) what he thought of all this, and he very much doubted that anything would happen. He says the Syrian army knows they are no match for the Israelis and that that morale in their military is not high. The only factor that might make a difference is if they're expecting Iranian support.
