Sheehan: Let's get away from usual party politics
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | July 22, 2007 | Cindy Sheehan

Posted on 07/22/2007 9:47:15 AM PDT by KingofZion

The feedback I have been receiving since I announced that I would challenge U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, for her House seat -- unless she gives impeachment the go-ahead -- has been running about 3-to-1 positive. *** I was frightened out of ever voting for a third party, or an independent candidate, but voting out of fear is one of the things that bestowed us with the Bush crime mob and may give us the Republican, if not in party affiliation, Hillary Clinton.

I was a lifelong Democrat only because the choices were limited. The Democrats are the party of slavery and were the party that started every war in the 20th century, except the other Bush debacle. The Federal Reserve, permanent federal income taxes, not one but two World Wars, Japanese concentration camps, and not one but two atom bombs dropped on the innocent citizens of Japan -- all brought to us via the Democrats.

Don't tell me the Democrats are our "saviors" because I am not buying it -- especially after they bought more caskets and more devastating pain when they financed and co-facilitated more of President Bush's abysmal occupation. The Democrats also are allowing a meltdown of our republic by allowing the evils of the executive branch to continue unrestrained by their silent complicity. *** I have nothing personally against Pelosi and have found our previous interactions very pleasant. However, being "against" the occupation of Iraq means ending it by ending the funding, preventing future illegal wars of aggression and holding BushCo accountable. Words have to be backed up by action, and if they aren't, they are as empty as Vice President Dick Cheney's conscience.

I would have added a barf alert, but this piece was too funny. I think my favorite part is where she blames Democrats for all the wars.

Pelosi is my Cong. (gag!) and I think this district is one of the few in the US where Sheehan would be highly competitive.

It's dangerous and unwise for people to surround themselves with others who will only tell them what they want to hear.

She gets a three-cheers from me. She’s a horsefly who wallows in horse-poop, and if she wants to go buzzing around HorseFace Pelosi, I say: Go, Cindy, Go!

I’m in Oakland and would be willing to - gaak - drive the bridge and hunt for parking to volunteer for her effort.

Run Cindy - Run.

Y’know, I’m actually starting to like “Mother Sheehan.” Read the whole essay and the SFChronic comments. She was never more than a burr under our saddle, but to the Dems she might prove to be a serious haemerrhoid.

That having been said, the $64,000 question is: who’s paying for her handlers and infrastructure now that the Soros gang has dumped her? That childlike creature so obviously could not run a lemonade stand on her own.

Where do I go to contribute to her campaign, she’s the best thing to happen to the Republican party since Newt flipped the house.

As usual with any Cindy Sheehan column, we must wonder who her ghostwriter is today. I very much doubt she can construct a coherent paragraph.

That's powerful stuff. She could win Pelosi's district, but what interests me is the wide number of people across the country who are fed up with the Republocrats. We live in interesting times.

Just as we have often been forced to choose between conservative principles and pubbie loyalty, the dem/libs might have to do some self-examination themselves.

Then again I’m probably fooling meself. Kos’ has baldly stated that he’ll do/say anything “to win.”

She’s a loon to the end.

I love the third party stuff she’s talking about. If she also kept writing of an obsession to a right to pot, I would know the perfect third party for her.

If she kicks Md. P’s butt - it just may serve as a wake up call - then again we are long overdue for a full house cleaning.
