Two days ago, I was having lunch in McDonald's with my son and nephew. CNN was on the TV in the corner of the room. (Thankfully, I couldn't hear it.) They headline story that they were covering when I looked up was that Kayne West's mother had died. I know a little about West and nothing about his mother, but I figured, okay, entertainment "news", if that's what they want to call it.

Two minutes later, I look up and there are STILL covering it. Shouldn't it have been a 10-second-and-out story? They finally moved on to serious news, but before we left, they were back on it. Repeating the top story, I guess.

Just another example of why no one can take CNN seriously.

I happened accidentally to tune into CNN, which I never actually watch, and wound up watching for a minute or two some idiot featurette which was full of cartoony animations of political figures flexing their muscles, etc, all with the host’s cutesy voice-over commentaries.
CNN was never any good, but THIS, for god’s sake, was ridiculous.

FOX does the same thing. They grab onto a story and run it 24/7. Ho hum most of the time. I watch Law and Order reruns instead...

Shouldn't it have been a 10-second-and-out story? Surely CNN compete with celebrity news; along with Fox News et al. . .Think this is how they are attempting to reach out to younger viewers who will 'follow' them. 'WhatEVER' it takes; it is obnoxious to suffer through, I agree.

However, do think Kanye's Mother's death was noteworthy and qualified under 'human interest'; not just because of her 'prominent' role as Mother but because of the issues surrounding her death and the fact of how she died - 'outpatient plastic surgery' - the 'casual approach' all too common.

In addition, the PS was not just a 'kitchen Doctor' - though his skills and judgment, might put him there - he was a celebrity plastic surgeon having appeared on Oprah. . .Discovery Channel etc. His dysfunctional shortcomings were not on his resume; however.

Guess it is interesting inasmuch as it shows how easy it is to be fooled by those who are automatically by theircelebrity considered worthy of your trust. And so think this story stands; not as a word to the wise; but to those who need to be.

And of course, this story stands as well against those celebs who imagine they are 'Green experts'. . .Global Warming buddhas; Arm-Chair Generals, et al and ad nauseum. . .which is just about all of them.
