the story is from Navy Times

Which sourced the story from Kyodo News Service, which attributed the original report to an unnamed "Taiwan daily." That was reported in the JBS article with a link to the Navy Times.

The incident may have occurred but most of this article is by the JBS which tries to inflate this story vs the Iranian incident.

It’s not clear just how much of an incident occurred. We know the Chinese denied our port call. The supposed 28 hour “standoff” needs more explanation.

I agree. It is the result of America’s cowardly policy toward China that accepts cyberwarfare, unfair trade policies, espionage, and the outsourcing of our industrial capacity to China that you observed.

You’re absolutely right, but in my opinion he opened the door to international corruption and Treason in the modern era.

The Taiwan Strait is what, 200 miles long?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwan_Strait

If you look at the map, it’s clear that the area covered by maybe twice that length, could be of some concern to China, Taiwan and America in such an incident.

I don’t know (and I think probably it’s not a good idea to post) how fast a carrier battle group sails - but it would seem reasonable a “28 hour standoff” could mean, that Chinese ships were following the carrier through the strait.

Could be that simple.

But we still need to stop sending our factories to China.

That cannot end well.

I can think of no other blatant example of treason than the technology sell out of our satellites in exchange for Caligula’s reelection campaign dollars brokered in the Loral deal. This China thing falls mostly on Clinton. This of course slips silently thru via the MSM. Arkancide extended it’s reach to some key players in Loral if my memory serves well (Kearn A Cottingham).

That’s why I just marked it to follow. If there had been some *incident* worth mentioning, the MSM would have leaked it already, most likely.

I guess the Chinese have a different concept-of-operations for the Song Class. The subs have a stealth capability, but apparently the Chinese COs will stick around and tweak with our Fleet.

Good for us.

Exactly. As the only sources of the information are the Navy Times article and the JBS repeat, both of which are sourced from an unnamed Taiwan paper, it is impossible to actually verify this report. It is entirely possible that it happened but I am extremely doubtful that such an incident could have actually occurred without it being more widely reported than this.

This is the result of the PRC stealing our technology without consequence.

The technology on both PRC vessels supposedly "confronted" (frankly the whole story seems overblown) is almost entirely Russian and French.

The PRC has stolen a great deal of sensitive technology from the US over the past 30, and we have given them a lot more under the pretext of free trade. I concede that you may have more knowledge than me about these particular vesssels, but I doubt there was no US technology on those subs.

How about legitimate US technology transfers in the late 70s-upto mid 80s???The Chinese airforce & navy did benefit from them.If it weren’t for Tiannammen,China may have become one of the biggest buyers of US weaponry & technology.
