China suffered rare and sustained low temperature, rain, snow and freezing weather since January 10.

See? Global warming must be to blame.

I just wonder why Karl Rove turned his weather control machine against the Chicoms.

The trouble isn't over when the snow stops. It's going to melt and cause some pretty severe flooding as the next act in this tragedy.

Are you sure that’s not a panda?

I think I see a bamboo shoot sticking out of its mouth.

I was sitting there and thinking about how all this snow eventually has to melt. Those folks in California always make a big deal about how this is good for them. You would think that there would be more dams built out in the rural sections of the country.

I have a weather radio right next to my bed. This time of the year the radio is used to provide avalanche warnings. Usually around 7 AM. It's something that wouldn't have occurred to me while I was living in San Diego.

I wonder if the Three Gorges dam is going to get an unusual influx. The rural areas of China tend to be dirt poor. They aren't well prepared to handle this kind of emergency.

Another thread pointed out that we are about to discover how a disaster in China impacts the usual massive flow of goods in our direction.
