I suppose it *can* be true, although I hesitate to say it is. It’s amazing that, in the 21st Century, a place could be so remote that it’s resistant to archaeological study.
On the other hand, that thrill-seeking pilot Mr. Fossett was just declared dead after being lost (presumably) in a small plane crash in the United States. Just shows it’s a big planet where it can be hard to find stuff.
Wow, another one...who would have guessed Noah commanded a fleet????

Fossett was lost somewhere near my hometown, and I can understand why. Very remote and sparley populated here. There are many parts of the world that, though mapped by geographers and satellite have never been explored.
Actually it’s not the enviroment that’s preventing an archelogical study, but the Turkish goevernment.
Would Steve Fossett fly off in a small airplane and disappear on purpose? Might he be holed up someplace watching all this on TV and laughing his butt off for some twisted reason?
The truth is often stranger than fiction, they say.
It is not just the remoteness of that region of Turkey, but the nature of the local inhabitants which has caused difficulties in any possible search.
The area is rugged, and populated with fierce folk who answer only to themselves, and not Turkish law. These folks are extremely suspicious of outsiders, and have been known to kill them on sight. Thus, the Turkish government issues few permits for archaeological expeditions to the Ararat region, as they don't wish to deal with the ramifications of a slaughtered archaeological team.

They lost no time in declaring him legally dead. Only 5 months. With a man of his wealth, they were in a hurry to divvy up his money!
It is not because the area is remote, it is because the political entities that have controlled the area have been resistant to it.
