Williams has been on the GOP payroll in the past and this just may be spin to stir up divisions among the Democrats.

Of course if it really happened it would be fun.

I thought Bloomberg with Hagel in tow was more of a front for McCain, but honestly I’m not sure what his game is.

I'm not sure either, but remember that Hagel was going to run for president until he approached a top Rep campaign manager who bluntly told him to forget it and focus on getting reelected to the Senate which was far from a done deal.

Apparently Hagel took a few internal polls, found out he wasn't going to be reelected, and dropped out of all races. It's kind of a corollary to Kerry "picking" Edwards as a running mate when Edwards knew he couldn't get reelected in his own state--and he couldn't even deliver that state in the general.

Does someone behind the scenes force bad choices on candidates to engineer a defeat to keep the next race open (Hillary on Kerry/Edwards) or perhaps to promote someone who will cram an elite-favored program down our throats (Amnesty)? I don't know, but the deeply stupid choices made by people who should know better and which are NOT determined by voters certainly raise questions.

In any case Obama is now an overwhelmingly superior choice for Bloomberg since he has surprised everyone with his success and popularity. Add to that the outrage if the Botch steals it from him.

Almost anything could happen if this situation comes about. McCain and Bloomberg could split left and moderate Republicans while Hillary and Obama split left Rats. That leaves half of each split going to O/Bloomie plus the general air heads, goo-goo ahos who are getting religious about Obama and people on both sides who are sick, tired and outraged at how the entrenched political class controls our choices.

If center right and conservatives say, "None of the Above" for president and just concentrate on electing good solid real Republicans for House, Senate and local races, it would be possible to see the race come out Obambam/Bloomie #1, Hillary a distant second and McCain an almost invisible third. Not saying that's good or even likely, just possible, and IF we manage to get enough good Reps in the House and Senate to keep a brake on the Executive branch, might not be too bad for 4 years.

This is impossible because the Democrat convention is September 1-4. This is when Hillary officially robs Obama. September 4th is too late to start registering your party in 50 states. You might be able to get on the ballot in 10 or 15

Good point, but what if Bloomie invests a couple hundred million (pocket change) in hiring 50 teams to get an Independent Party on all the ballots just in time even if he ends up not running?

Perot told his fans he'd run if THEY did the leg work and investment in getting the party on the ballots. Bloomie can streamline that procedure without a noticeable (to him) cost.

Do you know what states have the earliest deadlines for getting on the ballots? If it starts getting too late to make it in more than a couple states and Bloomie hasn't acted, then you have the proof of your statement (which is pretty likely I think).

Bloomberg’s game is power. He wants POWER, he doesn’t have enough POWER as NY’s mayor. Power hungry people do some strange things.
