Obama is basically telling Clinton, “Don’t steal my nomination from me.”
I think this is more of a shot over the bow of Clinton ship and those Democratic Super delegates.
That's the way it strikes me, too.Neither party looks to be truly united coming out of their convention. If there isn't a third-party candidacy in this election, it's kinda hard to see when one might ever succeed. There are dozens and dozens of billionaires in this country; all it takes is one - Ross Perot did it, of course - who decides to take matters in hand and run for POTUS or, as in this scenario, VP. And the Constitution/SCOTUS mean that no regulation prevents them from contributing a $ billion to such a joint campaign.
So at least the floating of this scenario is a natural counter to all the "by any means" talk about how the Clintons' ruthlessness makes her nomination inevitable. This rumor isn't exactly calculated to reduce Bloomberg's standing with black voters in NYC, either . . .
