Teen charged with intoxication manslaughter
ARLINGTON -- A woman died, and two children and an adult were injured in an alcohol-related accident about midnight Friday in south Arlington, authorities said.
Nogaelda Zavala, 38, was pronounced dead at the accident scene in the 600 block of Debbie Lane, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office. Two children in Zavala's car -- Angel Zavala, 3, and Anna Zavala, 14 -- were taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center with serious injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
Police arrested Brandon Lee Burchfield, 17, and he was in the Arlington Jail on Saturday facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter and three charges of intoxication assault, the jail log showed. Bail had not been set.
A passenger in Burchfield's truck, Charles James Osborn, 19, was taken to Dallas Methodist Medical Center by helicopter ambulance and was listed in critical condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Burchfield was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram westbound in the 800 block of Debbie Lane, and Nogaelda Zavala was approaching him in her 2003 Ford Taurus, according to police. Burchfield's truck crossed over the center dividing line and struck the Taurus head-on, police said.

Drunk driving is always cause for outrage. A poster (you) insinuating that everyone on FR is racist is also pretty outrageous, so if you wanted outrage, I guess you got it. Feeling all smug and self righteous Dane?

Drunk driving is never right, simply because the drunk driver is putting everyone else on the road at risk. Prayers for the family.
I know the point you were trying to make by posting this- of course we all know that we have citizens who are criminals, and drunk drivers, on social programs, yada, yada. That doesn’t mean that we need to have other countries problems here illegally adding to our problems. I am against anyone and everyone here illegally even those that do not engage in further illegal acts, even those who do not take one dime of assistance. Illegal is just illegal and that is that. It does especially gall me when illegals do engage in further illegal acts and take part in social programs for two reasons- first they simply should not be here to begin with so they sure should not be adding to the crime rate and adding to the burden of our social services. Second illegals are usually treated differently when they are caught breaking the law than citizens and that is something I am not willing to tolerate.
