YHVH must be sitting up there laughing at people trying to use his creation as a means to disprove his existence.
Doesn't he expect and isn't he glorified by his creations "groping around, attempting to know him and his creation"?
As a geologist, I don't have any problem with the earth either being 4.5 billion years old and the timeline being currently unfathomable as it is interpreted from the bible, or it being created ~4400 BC and looking like the timescale fits more of what we currently describe as years. Either way, if you utilize the visible evidence to look for things (like oil, continental drift etc...) or to describe processes, it works, and that's what counts and it doesn't conflict with Jesus being proffered to us for salvation or the numerous witnesses to his death and ressurection.
I'll stand by you if someone is going to say "therefore the evidence disproves the existence of God", but to merely conclude such from the usage of accepted timelines to describe processes going on is faulty logic. That wends its way down the path of "well, Satan put those fossils in the rocks" and the next thing you know you're essentially giving him credit for physical creation...
