On a related note on the web page, National Geographic is running a special on Sunday on what will happen with the earth when man no longer inhabits the earth.
What's the point? Are they looking forward to this?

SUPER! Last Saturday night we went to Haak winery in Sante Fe Texas. The astronomy club from NASA was out there with GIANT telescopes. We saw Saturn, Mars, and the Orion Nebula. It was amazing! You could even see Saturn’s moons.
Keep the Earth clean,
it isn’t Uranus!

Professor Brown went on to add that recovery of the meteor has been hampered because thirty minutes after it struck all communication was lost in the area. Calls to the local sheriffs department and the RCMP barracks have gone unanswered.

The UWO project is pretty interesting- I belong to a club that provides a site for one of their tracking cameras. They have a network of all-sky cameras and they use software to compare the images and track the progress of meteors. A side benefit for us is that they pay for a broadband connection at our observatory property.
A live feed from our all-sky camera is at http://aquarid.physics.uwo.ca/~sentinel/05.html

Whoever finds a meteorite can plan their retirement. They are far more valuable per pound than Rhodium.
