While Chris Matthews was waxing so rhapsodic about Barack Obama over on MSNBC this morning that he made Mika Brzezinksi ask if the Hardball host had endorsed him, Matt Lauer was doing his bit on NBC, wondering whether Hillary would be seen as having stolen the nomination if she managed to get it.
The Today co-anchor interviewed Bill Richardson, who's been getting maximum media mileage out of his Obama endorsement. Lauer's suggestion came toward the end of the segment.
MATT LAUER: Let's talk about political reality. Right now as we stand, with the delegate count, the popular vote count, the state-by-state count. Do you see any scenario under which Senator Clinton could win this nomination where it will not appear to large numbers of Democrats as if the nomination were stolen?

Lauer suggests Hillary can only win nomination by stealing it ping to Today show list.
Only if she steals it.
If she wins it according to the current Democrat Rules, then it is not stealing it.
Their problem should be with the current state of the rules the democrats operate under.
Like Hillary cares how she wins it........... ;-)
Nope.
Wouldn’t it be a hoot if she actually did steal it? Then what will the demoncrats say about George Bush and 2000! HO HO, chickens roosting indeed.
The media will make sure that whoever the Dem nominee is, he/she will get good press. But in the meantime, they are going to cast their votes for Obama.
Their real problem is the victim mentality they foster with their constituents. They've been conditioned to feel cheated if they don't get their way.
Is this the same Bill Richardson, the genius who negotiated us this far with the North Koreans ?
Nyet!
...and would she care?
Certainly the black democrats will feel cheated, having been nurtured by the poverty pimps to believe in their own oppression and victimization. Anyway, Barack will probably win the popular vote, although it is only a meaningful statistic in that pressure might be applied to the superdelegates. If the DNC wanted to make the popular vote the criterion for the nomination, it should have done away with all of the state primaries and just had one big national primary.
If Hillary is seen as having used Clinton “tactics” to steal the nomination, there is likely to be rioting in the streets. However, if Obama will accept her “engineered victory” gracefully and take the VP slot while at the same time making another of his “speeches” urging peace and tranquillity amongst “his” people, perhaps the Democrats can have the nightmare . . er . . dream ticket they were talking about a couple of weeks ago.
Or the DNC may throw her under the house and go with Obama, setting her up in the VP position. Ugh. People who are in the way of the Clintons don’t last long a lot of times.
Even the morning show Clinton suck-ups have turned! Man, am I enjoying this!
Why do you doubt that she WILL steal it?
There’s no other reason that she’s still in. There is mathematically no way she can go into the convention with a pledged delegate lead. That leaves the possibility only to convincing enough supers to crown her.
She intends to steal it.
Dhimmirat group division is, indeed, coming home to roost.
Stealing elections is indeed a typical trait of socialist democRats, bred into their psyche over time.
Perception is reality. The Obama supporters have created that perception, just like Hillary’s spin merchants have moved the goal posts by making poppular vote received as one of the criteria for getting the nomination rather than just pledged delegates.
Lose / lose for the socialists and their typical hyphenated-Africans.
