The girl's body was found about 7 p.m. Tuesday in the basement of No. 472, which is located in the same complex and about 100 feet from where the victim lived.

Met also is being held on suspicion of child kidnapping and tampering with evidence, according to a probable cause affidavit released this morning.

The affidavit reads: "After an extensive search for a missing seven year old female, she was located deceased in the basement of the arrestee's residence. Arrestee was interviewed and, post-Miranda admitted to attempting to confine the victim to the residence by Hser Nay Moo force, resulting in her death.

Arrestee also admitted attempting to conceal the body and other forensic evidence."

Very sad. What is the ethnic group? I thought that perhaps the little girl was Chinese or Korean, but the suspect certainly doesn’t look like either group and his name is completely unfamiliar. Are these people Ughirs or from the Muslim areas of China?

Not that it matters. This is hideous, regardless of where they came from or who they are.

Poor girl didn’t deserve that.
Heard the report the girl was missing on Fox News when the wife and I sat down for lunch. Just about put me off of it.

Burmese. I saw an article about this this morning here at FR. I do not know which Burmese ethnic or tribal group however. The family moved here to escape strife found in Burma. Sad.

Thank you. I lived in California where there was a large Hmong population. They were in general very nice people. The women did great quilting.

Thanks - your messages just popped up when I posted. We seem to be having strange server problems again tonight (multiple posts, no responses, etc.).

I would think there aren’t a lot of Burmese here, so this must be very difficult for the group. Obviously, vicious sexual criminals and killers can occur in any group, but I imagine that if you’re part of a small ethnic group in a foreign country, this must be even harder.

You know, sorry, but it doesn’t have to do with that they were Burmese. It has to do that the killer was a murder, probably a sex pervert, and did EVIL. It crosses ethnic lines. And frankly, he knew it was wrong or he wouldn’t have tried to hide the evidence.

Many people put up with much more stress than moving to a new land, without KILLING LITTLE GIRLS.

Just trying to keep a clear perspective here.

The report I linked to said that the victim was a refugee from Burma, and only in the country since July. I wasn't talking about the murderer. I don't care where he's from.

Oh, sorry. They were all ‘friends’ — must have been from Burma too.

Just overreacting again as USUAL. hahah.

As a mom, this makes me so sad, and mad!

Some people are just evil.

It doesn’t matter what he is. My point was simply that this must be a fairly small community of people (I can’t imagine there are tons of Burmese in SLC) and obviously they would all know or be relted to both the victim and the killer, which must be even more difficult.

This is tragic beyond words.

They came here LEGALLY.

They WAITED 20 YEARS to come here LEGALLY to the U.S..

“Catholic Relive Services sponsored Ner Moo’s family and brought them to Utah in July along with about 250 other people from Burma. Police said the family lived in a refugee camp on the border of Thailand for 20 years before getting permission to immigrate to the United States. “They coming here to start a new life, sort of build a life. a life they have lost for more than 20-years or so, Batar said.”

http://www.abc4.com/mostpopular/story.aspx?content_id=f471f4b7-40b4-414d-aea4-2c2b59ef1a7a

And some perverted ILLEGAL murders the little girl.

I am so ANGRY!

John, McCain - don’t you DARE grant shamnesty after you claim you’ll build a fence. Don’t you dare!
