Doneil's message could have been clearer than it was. One could be left wondering what he saw as a "sordid mess". Was it government interference (a gov't which has made very bad judgements in the past), or was Doneil referring to the Eldorado polygamist colony as a "sordid mess"?
I don't believe I ever accused Doneil of supporting the practices of the FLDS. Yet, Doneil gave the impression this particular cult, including the children, shouldn't trust the government no matter what the FLDS forced on them.

I was trying to explain to you what had transpired on the thread, and ended up leaving you thinking I blamed you also.

I just don’t get that out of post 1. Not one word in those sentences indicates the poster said that.
The poster said the government was a larger problem, not a more important one.
Now, other posters tried to accuse me, and DONEIT of saying that, when it is not at all in evidence.
Well, therein lies the ‘sin’ that DONEIT and I were condemned and hung for. (and I don’t mean by you)
Which is what I was trying to explain to you, and failed miserably.
In light of todays court ruling, you owe DONEIT an apology.
Your commentary was spot on and I really find it amazing that some of these people couldn't understand my point.
Reminds me of the ‘Twilight Zone’ episode where a neighborhood goes crazy because they think and alien has landed and one of them is it! LOL

I just read the rest of the posts in this thread (Those after I was banned) and it is utterly amazing (And, on some level, amusing). Man, you went to all kinds of effort to educate these folks and they still didn't get it. Truly pitiful.
The post about three up from this one, from Balding Eagle, to some of the hysterical ‘Moms’ requesting an apology in light of today's ruling is especially satisfying. I doubt any will bother though - They appear much more adept at simple emotional attack and less inclined for the rational apology.

yeah, but the applies to both ‘sides’.
And still, I insist, we are all on the same side.
we have different points of view, different amounts and types of information in our heads, and at our fingertips.
We each have our own special ‘concerns’, which dominate the area we try to ‘defend’.
Each day is a new day, and I try to ‘start over’ when it comes to returning a post. (confusing?) What I mean is I try to harbor no grudge. TRY. I’m not perfect at it, but I try.
I think more posters are doing that, as time goes on with these threads. Once some of the ‘missing’ pieces of the puzzle are filled in (evidence, testimonies, DNA test results, charges, arrests) then maybe some of the conflict will disappear, and we will all be united again.
Now, it has occurred, and it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

It appears to me as a simple case of the end justifying the means in that they used information that was very likely trumped up (Maybe even by themselves) but that gave them some cover to go in, right a wrong, and, in the process, uproot hundreds of peoples lives in the pursuit of the guilty.
That is the basis for my original post - That the government may very likely be the source of the greater evil and will perpetrate this evil in the name of ‘Protecting’ us from another evil. Hitler was most adept at this type of shell game. He rode it quite far.
That may well be.
If there are some charges filed, and arrests made, then we will know a lot more about whether this was trumped up or not.
OPTIONS:
None of it’s true, and the CPS made it all up. So did the WELFARE folks who reported abuse to the CPS, and the girls who made statements to CPS workers indicating abuse lied.
Some, or all of it’s true, and they will be able to prove it.
Some or all of it’s true, and the FLDS got rid of the evidence, and the case will be dropped.
Well, I’ve been on pretty much all the threads, and no one is innocent.
I’ve also said this before, the fact that a lot of ‘moms’ would enter the discussions with an attitude of protect the children first, when confronted with stories that old men were having sex with minors, just seems completely logical.
It’s like when females say some guy is ‘creepy’.
That means something different than it does to us men.
Everyone has their own ‘point of view’. I do my best to understand it, and try to refrain from criticizing it.
And emotion can be generated by being attacked, as you and I well know.
And emotion is something that happens in place of fact/logic.
Anyway, I think we are all humans, and we all should treat each other with respect, and I do my best to apologize when I don’t.
It is this case, and all the ‘hot buttons’ it contains, that is the problem, and not so much a case of ‘bad’ posters.
