A little birdie told me there were over 300 agents spread out over several states, and that this would be the largest such raid conducted to date...but not for long.

As for catch-and-release, I wouldn’t bet on it this time.

HOOVER AND EISENHOWER

Here is something that should be of great interest for you to pass around.
I didn’t know of this until it was pointed out to me. But, back during the Great Depression, President Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of all illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work.

And then again in 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexican nationals! The program was called “Operation Wetback” so that American WWII and Korean veterans had a better chance at jobs. It took 2 years, but they deported them!

Now, if they could deport the illegal back then, they can sure do it today!! If you have doubts about the veracity of this information, enter Operation Wetback into your favorite search engine and confirm it for your self.

Reminder. Don’t forget to pay your taxes... 50 million illegal aliens are depending on you!

I don't have a clue where Garden City is but the Vietnamese I have met from that generation didn't get any special breaks (other then escaping from a living hell) and they were to the person fine, family oriented, hard working individuals. One I especially recall, a former ARVN soldier, had horrendous facial scars from combat. But he was so damn conscientious and pleasent, even with his then limited English, that people simply loved the guy. I lost contact with him many years ago, but I'm sure he did well in life.

From my experience in life, I'd rather have a Vietnamese family next door than your average Harvard grad.

Garden City, KS is (or was) the home of a big meat packing plant. I agree with your summary of Viets vs. Harvad grad next door but don’t think for a moment that there are not refugees from SE Asia still on welfare. Two states I’m familiar with, IA & MN, spent millions finding homes, jobs and food for these new arrivals. It is true that, compared to recent arrivals from Mexico, they have adapted to our society more quickly and in many cases, have exceeded. Its my experience that all Asians have this “get-ahead” trait. In St. Paul and elsewhere in MN and western WI, there are now second generation Viets, Cambodians and Laotians on public assistance.
