Ahhhhh... but Mr. McIntyre, although the extent of the sea ice is at a record, the ice is "new' and it's "thin." You must have missed Al Gore's memo. They want the "old" ice, not "new" ice!

And it has to be floating on the sea. The fact that Antarctica has record ice depth on land (and that’s mostly ‘old’ ice) doesn’t matter either.

Anybody can view comparisons for themselves-it is measured by depth determined by satellite:
