>>>>>>Yep, and you will find similar pro-Nazi and SS units recruited from Swedes, Norwegians, Belgians, Frenchmen, Spaniards, Ukrainians, Slovaks, Italians, etc. I do not lack knowledge of the Balkans or its history.<<<<<<

There were no Greek nor Serb members of Waffen SS. Your attempt to water down Albanian Nazi past is sickening because they are unrepentant Nazis.

“Your attempt to water down Albanian Nazi past is sickening because they are unrepentant Nazis.”

Europe is full of “unrepentant Nazis”. Somehow “unrepentant Nazis” and their victims seem to have gotten over their problems in the sixty years after WWII.

WWII is long over. A parable -

WWII happened in Manila, my hometown, as well. There the Japanese garrison, after starving the population, imprisoning and torturing most of the Filipino leadership, etc., finally decided to exterminate the whole city (1 million people) when the Americans approached. Like most residents, every one of my relatives (of those who survived) was a witness of atrocities very few today would believe. In that city, in two weeks, 100,000 were killed. All the survivors owe their survival to the sacrifice of the US Army, which rescued most of them at a cost of 1000 dead. Similar things happened all over the country. In the end, from massacre and starvation one in 20 Filipinos died as a result of the war. That may be almost as bad as Serbia/Yugoslavia.

Thirty years after the war, a Japanese student wandering through the streets of Manila entered our garden and fell into conversation with my Grandmother. They had a nice chat for a couple of hours, after which my grandmother stated that she had now forgiven the Japanese. And so, in fact, has the entire country. To forgive is not to forget.
