Anybody remember sitting up till 4 AM to watch a spacecraft crash into an asteroid?

No, but when I was 15 y.o., I did get up at 2 a.m. ET June 2, 1966, to watch live coverage of Surveyor 1's landing.

I was 2 years old in 66. My girlfriend say the first space stuff she remembers are shuttle launches. (she’s 36)
