As a Conservative black woman, I too feel this conflict. I am excited at the prospect of Obama getting this far and that our country has progressed enough for him to be a serious contender. On the other hand, I disagree with just about all of his political platform. So as a black conservative, that puts me in a quandary when I would like to support him but cannot if I really stick to my beliefs. God BLess America!

Fortunately for us, he's also half-assed.
My wife has a nephew in Virginia who married a woman who is half caucasian and half Guamanian I believe the term is (her mother was from Guam). It seems the ruling in the schools is that ethnicity or race is determined by the mother, therefore she had to list herself as Guamanian and her children (who are 3’4 caucasian) also have to list as Guamanian. If we follow the same rule with Obama he would have to call himself Caucasian because his mother was caucasian. It all seems so ridiculous to call him “the first black presidential nominee”.
