I should amend my comment to say that the columnist makes similar points. This “Obama will heal our racial divisions” is not what the columnists are saying but what Obama campaign and media are peddling. Its Koolaid drinking nonsense.

The assertion that Obama will heal our racial problems is based on the belief that whites are responsible for them. According to this view, Obama as president will show white America how competent and compassionate blacks are, and we'll all repent of our racism. Since we're the only ones who are racist, problem solved, right?
