I really hate to say this.....BUT...putting myself in their shoes I think that it would be difficult, if not impossible to resist casting such a historical vote. I hope that they dont but I just cant get too angry with them for considering it.

A truly historical vote would be a vote against the content of Obama’s character, not for the color of his skin.

LOL, I think that’s our problem, that little bit of empathy for them.......It will be the undoing of the United States of America.

That is pure bullstuff.
One does not vote for 'history'.

Like heck, I can assure you I could avoid casting an “historical vote” for Mario Cuomo.

...and Martin Luther King got it all wrong.

It IS the color of one's skin, not his charater, that counts.

Then you would join them in their racism.

I doubt they like Obama. They might not have considered supporting Obama except the GOP chose a liberal who depends on the Democrat Lieberman to whisper answers to him.

As a black conservative, I am INFURAIATED that most blacks vote on race. It’s absolutely insane. Values and principles over color. Having a black person in the White House shouldn’t mean anything in itself. And it sure as hell shouldn’t mean that blacks become “better off” especially since it’s not the federal government’s job to support the well being of one group over that of another. Most blacks just walk right along with this insanity and it’s very disturbing.

"Calvin Stephens, chairman of the African-American Republican Leadership Council in Texas, said that he's voting for Obama because this is a "black pride moment!" "

Black pride? Kind of sounds like the same reason that black jury acquitted O.J. It doesn't matter what they've done, or what they stand for, it's the color of their skin that gets the vote. As Donald Trump would say: Very shallow.

Isn’t McCain the first former-POW presidential nominee?

Why, race trumps the interests of the nation. Presuming these are conservatives, not liberation theologists in disguise.

These black Republicans give me the opportunity to say something nice about Barak, when it came to confirming the first black Secretary of State, he voted his, imo incorrect, view of America's interests, and voted no to Condi.

So if Hillary had won the Democrat nomination, all republican women would be contemplating voting for her?

This is nothing but racially motivated.

I'd liken this phenomenon of black republicans voting for Obama more to something like nationalism rather than racism. It's a pride thing, not a hate thing.

At least you admit that race matters.

“I really hate to say this.....BUT...putting myself in their shoes I think that it would be difficult, if not impossible to resist casting such a historical vote.”

I know what you mean, skin color is so much more important than ideas, values, love of country, ethics, future of our country, etc.
