Iran's missile tests last week will strengthen its position in diplomatic efforts to resolve an international standoff over Tehran's disputed nuclear plans, a senior official was quoted as saying on Monday.

"The manoeuvres helped the Islamic Republic to go to the negotiating table with a full hand," the official IRNA news agency quoted Deputy Defence Minister Nasrullah Ezatti as saying.

Ezatti, a brigadier-general who is in charge of coordinating armed forces logistics, was speaking five days before Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili was expected to meet European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana in Geneva.

In June, Solana presented Tehran with a package of economic and other incentives proposed by world powers to coax it to halt sensitive nuclear work the West fears is aimed making bombs, a charge Iran denies.

Iran has offered its own package to resolve the dispute.

missile tests boost its position in talks...

Perhaps like how clay disks boost their position during a game of skeet.

I think they misunderstood, perhaps their English isn’t all that good. We told them their name was being moved up on our attack list, not that their position was being boosted. Sometimes English is very subtle.

The Iranians are in a better negotiating position because they think they’ve mastered Photoshop?

Finally the MSM is mentioning that the test appeared to be faked. So how has Iran's standing been boosted? Maybe they can out Photoshop the Israelies!

It is a win because everything they do is a delay of accountability leading to their nuclear status.

I thought the whole thing was staged? Older missiles, and photoshop? How are they still saying that they launched test missiles?

What is there to talk about? Iran is not going to give up its nuke program. Talk is just a tactic to buy time.
