The War With Iran
TownHall ^ | July 14th,2008 | by Frank J. Gaffney, Jr.

Last week’s Iranian missile tests prompted another round of fevered speculation that war might erupt between Iran and the United States. Largely lost in the frenzy is an unhappy fact: The Iranian mullahocracy has been at war with this country since it came to power in 1979.

The problem is that the weapons available to Tehran for prosecuting its jihad against “the Great Satan” are no longer simply truck bombs and suicide vests. Its proxy army, Hezbollah, has taken over Lebanon and operates terror cells from Iraq to Latin America and even inside the United States. With help from Communist China and Russia, its Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps wields an array of anti-ship missiles, mines and go-fast boats capable of discouraging oil traffic from transiting the Straits of Hormuz – if not actually sealing that vital waterway for protracted periods.

Seems like everybody wants the US to strike Iran....more than we actually want to.

I want to see them try to use the “go fast” boats. I think they will indeed, go fast. Especially against some of those awesome computer controlled guns the navy has been deploying - the ones that eject shells like rain.

Who is the “we” you are referring to? Pelosi? We (most Americans) want to eliminate Iran's regime and military before dummy gets nukes.

For a while now I have believed that America’s war with Islamofacism started in Iran and will end in Iran.

It’s time to end the war.

I don't have a problem with "striking them".

As long as we knock them so far down they can't get up again for 100's of years.

I damned sure don't want to get involved in more "nation building" for the mussies!

We need to knock the regime down.

The Iranian people have tasted relative freedom and a modern, secular lifestyle as recently as the 1970s. They are not our enemy and most them want the regime gone.

I really don't want to get in a back and forth debate with you. I understand you position and respect your right to your opinion.

I have a bit of a different take on Islam particularly as it is practiced in the mid and far East.

Islam in and of itself is, in my opinion, an insidious total philosophy which call for world domination with nonbelievers (Infidels) to convert or die! It is totally in diametric opposition to Western ideology and governance to say nothing about religious beliefs.

And so I have a rather different attitude than you and of course others in regards to even "secular" Islam.

“to convert or die!”
you forgot that we could always pay a head tax ... paying yearly tithes to keep from being beheaded.
Yeah the religion of peace!
