So if you want her to stay in jail you're not a Christian? So you're a Christian but others who disagree are not? Doesn't make sense.
....that you'd like to campaign for?
too bad you weren't there for Eichmann's trial before his richly deserved hanging...he claimed to regret he was just following orders too.
Hildy, for some reason I thought you were Jewish so I can't see why you're fixated on Christian forgiveness.
I'd like to say for the record that Christian salvation has more to do with a firm belief of Christ as God's son sent here to save us of our sins than it does this new fangled Good Works stuff which has really almost replaced the old denominations....a course I consider quite wrong and unfortunately to be expected in this age of qualifying, no judgment, equivocation and relativism.
I don't buy it. I think charity is great as is compassion but it's not either/or.
Some folks deserve to be killed and shown no mercy and if ever one qualifies Sexy Sadie is one.
I believe what she is saying is that the chief defining characteristic of a Christian is love and that a fruit of the spirit is mercy. Now what Adkins did was horrific and she should be punished but there are many here who would love to damn her to hell when she may have actually repented and become a Christian. Shes just wondering about the venom from many she considers Christians here. I think its hilarious.
They should allow her to cut her own throat, preferably with the same knife used on the victims.
Im not going to argue with the knuckleheads here who claim to be Christians yet ignore the foremost principle of their belief...mercy. You are saved by Grace through faith and that not of yourselves , it is the Grace of God not of works lest any man should boast.
Jesus was walking through a town one day and a woman came running out with a crowd behind her, wanting to stone her for adultery. It was the law and they were within their right to do it. Guess what he said...let he that is without sin cast the first stone. The bible says they all walked away beginning with the eldest. Jesus said... woman where are your accusers? She said there were none and Jesus said Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more. Like it or not you good Christin folk here, those are your so called LORDS words. How dare you spit in his face and damn this woman to hell. Bunch of self righteous pharisees. Whitewashed tombs....Jesus was right.
You seem hellbent on explaining yourself. Good for you. It doesn’t work for me. I see no point to it. She did this 37 years ago and she’s been paying her debt. I’m only going to say this one more time. I think to show mercy to let her die out of prison is what a merciful, Christian society would do. THAT IS MY OPINION and the creed by which I live. I’m not disrespting your opinion...I don’t understand why you find it necessary to disrespect mine.
I have said from the get go that I understand not wanting her to leave Prison...what I don’t understand is so many here want her to suffer more than she’s already suffered. To die in abject misery. That’s what I think is unChristian.
And I was wondering when I was going to meet God. Welcome to Free Republic.
I don’t think being a christian necessitates allowing someone like this out of prison.
It is difficult to live up to christian values in this case, as the details of Sharon Tate’s (and her baby’s) last moments on this earth are as horrifying as it can get.
How do we show christian love to such evil murderers?
Well - we can pray for their souls.
We refrain from killing them out of revenge.
This woman is fortunate she didn’t face the death penalty.
But I do think in the quest to be “good christians”, people sometimes forget about the victims and loved ones left behind.
This woman will soon be in God’s hands, and that is between her and the Creator (something we all face).
We should also remember those who loved Sharon Tate and who would have loved Sharon’s baby daughter.
Slapping them in the face with the release of one of the cold-blooded killers is not the christian thing to do.
This woman has access to medical care, visitors, and any spiritual assistance she requests.
She doesn’t deserve to be sent home to die...no doubt about it, I fully agree.
Do you deserve Christs forgiveness for you sins?
Snurple Since Apr 13, 2008
You old retread Snurple!
Just who the heck are ya' anyway?
I believe in mercy, too.
However, just how much mercy did she show to those she murdered?
She deserves the same amount of mercy she showed them...which is none.
No...you aren't wrong.
Christians believe in mercy and forgiveness.
However, we also believe those who commit terrible acts as she did should pay dearly for those acts.
Don't Jews believe the same thing?
Just call me da tooth;)
You’re the one pointing fingers here from jumpstreet about how you’re merciful and righteous and were craven.
Anyone playing God here dear it’s you.
I’ll be damn.
Wow.
Look at what the proverbial “kitty cat” drug up.
Good morning.
Good night folks and goodbye..live long and prosper.
Hildy...you’re passive agressive....like my mom was...and my wife sometimes....and my daughters...lol
me..when my knuckles quit scraping peat...just regular aggressive
and who said that extra chromosome never meant much?
Ya cant get anything past her lol
Live long and prosper yerself. ;o)
